UFH business portfolio

UFH has been an exemplary Austrian company in the field of climate protection for more than 30 years. We are your competent partner when it comes to collection and recovery systems for waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) and batteries.

UFH has developed in exciting and successful ways since 1993. Originally entrusted with the recycling of cooling units and the handling of disposal stickers (refrigerator stickers), the UFH system has expanded its scope of activities tremendously over the years.

Today, UFH is the leading supplier of collection and recovery systems for refrigerators, small and large electrical appliances, display screen equipment, gas discharge lamps and batteries. Together with Remondis Electrorecycling GmbH in Kematen/Ybbs, it operates one of the world’s most modern recycling systems for cooling appliances.

UFH can now offer a new service for foreign distance sellers and manufacturers by serving as their authorised representative as defined in the new Austrian WEEE Ordinance (Elektroaltgeräteverordnung, EAG-VO).

UFH has also offered environmentally friendly and resource-efficient disposal solutions for the entire photovoltaics segment since 1 January 2016. Defective PV modules can be returned to UFH as an authorised collection point, along with power storage systems and inverters.

As a founding member and the only Austrian member of the WEEE Forum, UFH is deeply involved in developing and advancing uniform high standards, also at the European level. In addition, UFH is a member of the association for waste lamps, EucoLight.

UFH’s Managing Board is made up of representatives for every category of WEEE and ensures that the interests of industry and commerce are taken into account in the UFH system.

With its roughly 40 employees, UFH Group generated around EUR 10 million in revenues and served 1,000 customers in 2021.

UFH is

Pioneer of environmental protection and an Austrian showcase company.
